Spring is in the air, and with spring comes new beginnings. This is true at TRICOM, as well.

One of the things that makes TRICOM so special is our people, many of whom have been with us for years and even decades. While we’ve come to rely on their experience and insights gained during their tenure, we also understand that sometimes transitions are necessary.

TRICOM has experienced some changes over the last few months. Our Director of Sales, Shelly Wilkinson, retired in November 2025 after over 20 years in her role. Jonathan Almendarez joined the TRICOM team as the new Director of Sales in December. Rick Gehrke, TRICOM’s SVP Chief Operations Officer was promoted to President in February 2026. One additional change happened April 1st when Julie Ann Bittner, TRICOM CEO, retired after her 34-year tenure.

Through these transitions, one thing remains consistent: our focus on our clients and their success. Rick and Julie Ann talk about their thoughts on these changes, and we share more about Jonathan as he leads the sales team.

Julie Ann joined the TRICOM team in 1991 and has served as President / CEO since 2002. She led the TRICOM team with passion, a deep understanding of TRICOM’s role, and a focus on our clients’ needs. Her presence at TRICOM and within the staffing industry will be missed.

Rick reflects on his time working with Julie Ann, and how her influence has shaped his career. “I’ve had the privilege of working under Julie Ann for my 28-year career at TRICOM thus far. As she continues on her path into retirement, I understand I have big shoes to fill. Upholding the foundation of TRICOM that she created in her tenure is my highest priority. The culture of the company, the commitment to the staffing industry, and honoring her legacy will be welcome challenges I am ready to face. I feel very blessed to be chosen for this role.”

While Julie Ann has been a strong, steady presence at TRICOM, she knows that Rick is a great fit to lead TRICOM into the future. Rick joined TRICOM in 1998 and has gained a deep understanding of all TRICOM’s services and functions over the years.

“I have had the privilege of working closely with Rick for 28 years and have seen firsthand his ability to lead with clarity, collaboration, and accountability. Rick’s commitment and leadership have been instrumental to TRICOM’s long-term success. His promotion to President ensures continuity in leadership and reinforces our commitment to clients, employees, stakeholders, and partners. I am confident in Rick’s leadership,” says Julie Ann.

Rick will work closely with TRICOM’s new Director of Sales, Jonathan Almendarez. Jonathan is a proven sales and marketing leader across financial services, SaaS, and enterprise sales. Jonathan explains that “I believe in taking ownership first, understanding the problem before selling a solution, and driving growth through disciplined execution and trust.” It’s also what attracted him to the TRICOM team. “TRICOM empowers staffing agencies to grow on their own terms providing the capital, tools, and support they need to scale confidently and sustainably. TRICOM isn’t just a funding partner, it’s a true growth enabler.”

While some familiar faces will be missed, we are confident that under Rick’s leadership, clients will continue to enjoy the steady, expert funding and administrative resources and support they’ve come to depend on over the years.

Rick’s philosophy throughout his career has been to “focus on what you do best and be the best at what you do.” We feel it’s a philosophy that applies to TRICOM, as well.
